Embellish Color Trends...Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Hey Bloggeritas!  There is something about a rainbow that can literally alter your mood as soon as you see it.  For me, a rainbow is the promise of all of life's elements coming together to work cohesively at something.  I don't know.  I personify all the colors and imagine that they're talking to each saying "okay guys let's make something special"!  I know, I know...my imagination is crazy.

Anyway, I wanted to share my card with you for the Embellish Color Trends challenge.  I always feel like I'm playing in the wrong sandbox when I enter cards into this challenge.  I hope I'm not insulting the DT by submitting unworthy work!  They are some crafty heavyweights.  Their projects are always awesome.  Anywho...here is the tea (you know, the good stuff):

Hope you like it!

P.S. I'm also entering this card into the Unity Stamp Co.'s Friends with Flair!

Heck Yeah Thursdays

Hello Bloggeritas.  Honestly, it's not much of a heck yeah Thursday.  My boss, friend, and adopted mother, Karan died yesterday.  She and I were very close and I'm totally outdone by her loss.  I know that she would be telling me to grieve and then suck it up.  That's what I plan on doing but, right now, I miss her.  She was the kind of person that would listen to you mentioning things all year long and then buy all those things for you for Christmas.  She always listened to your problems and offered her shoulder even when her shoulder was over burdened with other things.  I can't say enough about Karan.  I love her very much.

Reason #1:  I was able to be a part of Karan's life for 4 1/2 precious years.  She taught me so much and I'm forever grateful to have been blessed enough to know her.

Goodbye Karan a.k.a. "The KAJ".  I love you and miss you already.

TTT #3

Hey Bloggeritas!  I'm kind of down today because I found out that my boss, a lady that I'm extremely close to is not winning her battle with cancer.  I know that this is not necessarily fun card posting talk but, I just had to get it off my chest.  I love her very much and I know that she knows that.

Here are the juices and berries of the Triplicate Trials Tuesday (TTT #3) challenge:

PDCC #87

Today my husband and I ventured to an awesome Pizzeria called Antico.  Honestly, it was the best pizza we've ever had.  It was so good, that I drove back to Antico's so that we could have it for dinner tonight.  After this week, we're in training to run the Peachtree Road Race in 2012 (the year we turn 30) so, we're going out with a BANG!  Looking at some of the authentic Italian art on the walls inspired me.  The tag below is the result of my inspiration.  I'm submitting it for the Play Date Cafe challenge this week.  Here is the tea (you know the yummy part of the post):

It's so funny because literally I used three different stamp sets and one back ground stamp just for this little bitty tag!  The background is a Hero Arts stamp called Old Writing Flower Collage, The leaves are from a Verve stamp set (the sentiment is Verve too), the image of the woman is a Graphic 45 stamp and the post card is from a Tom Holtz for Stampers Anonymous stamp set.  I also used some Sassafras Lass packaging from some of their die cuts for my leaves die cut.  I LOVE it when I can use packaging on a project.  It's going GREEN to the 100th power.  Talk to you soon!

CFC #8

Hey Bloggeritas!  It has been one heck of a "Stay-Cation" for my hubby and I.  We took Friday and Monday off to celebrate our 5th year wedding anniversary and we've been rediscovering all the fun things we love about our city.  It was a cost effective and festive anniversary weekend.  I would like to share a tag that I made for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge this week.  Here is the tea (oh, the juicy stuff):

I remember when I was expecting our son, Picard.  I was so enamored with the jungle theme that I almost couldn't bear to see any other nursery themes.  Now that he is scooting toward his second birthday, I thought I'd make something that took me back to when I was preparing for his arrival.  I wonder if my grass counts as "getting edgy"?  Hmmm...I sure hope so! :)  Talk to you really soon.  PEACE!

5 Years and Growing...

Hello y'all!  I'm celebrating my 5th wedding anniversary today!  I'm so grateful and fortunate to have my husband.  He is everything that I could possibly hope for.  Sometimes our life seems to good to be true.  It's indeed a beautiful thing.  I wanted to share with you the Anniversary card I made for him.  Initially, I was going to enter it into the CAS-ual Friday challenge but, then it turned into something that wasn't so clean and simple so, anyway, here it is.

I also sang a little ditty for him since I sang to him on our actual wedding day.  You can listen to it here:

I love TERENCE and he loves ME!  Happy Anniversary to us!

It's Time for...HECK YEAH THURSDAYS!

Good morning Blogerritas!  It's a rainy day here in Atlanta, GA.  It reminds of me of this song called "A Rainy Night in Georgia".  The chorus says "A rainy night in Georgia, such a rainy night in Georgia, lord I believe it's raining all over the world."  That's how it feels to me today.  I feel like it's raining all over the world.  So, today's installment of HECK YEAH Thursdays is going to be both celebratory and declarative.  Let's get to it!

Reason #1: My FIVE year wedding anniversary is tomorrow!  My husband and I are the best of friends.  I look back on our courtship and our marriage and that is the thing that sticks out the most.  We share a bond that virtually shuts the rest of the world out.  From that bond blooms the most genuine and pure love.  I'm looking forward to 95 more years together!

Reason #2:  I have become OBSESSED with people leaving comments on my blog!  I mean it has become an addiction to check blogger a least twice an hour to see if anyone has commented on one of my cards.  I had to remind myself that I make cards for the love of crafting...not to see how many people like the cards I make.  I actually get bummed out when I don't receive a least 5 comments on a card.  Don't even get me started on racking up followers!  There for, I proclaim that as of today, June 23rd I will only check my blog for comments twice a day.  I further proclaim that I only want people to follow me if they genuinely like my work.  I don't want family or friends to follow me just so I can see that # go up.

Reason #3:  Crafting notoriety.  I have been seeking crafting notoriety...desperately.  I don't know what came over me.  I've applied to design teams for companies that sell products that I don't even use!  Conversely I've applied to some other DTs I really wanted to be on and didn't make but...that isn't the point! LOL!  I digress...I have since come to my senses and re prioritized.  I now remember why I do this and I am going forward in a new direction!

Reason #4:  My baby, Triplicate Trials Tuesday is blossoming!  In case you're wondering what TTT is, it's a three part challenge, sketch, colors and a theme.  It's bi-weekly which is great because you won't have to worry about rushing to get your projects in.  I have a WONDERFUL Design Team called the "Triple T Team" and they ROCK the challenges!  I couldn't be more proud.  Please visit us at http://www.triplicatetrials.blogspot.com/ You still have time to play.  All submissions are due on the 26th.

Reason #5:  I just won a prize from Susan at Inspire. Create. Express.  She is hosting a contest that is such a neat and HUMAN concept.  It is the Blogging is for sharing giveaway.  The concept is that we as Bloggers in the crafting community have a wealth of information that we can share with one another.  Please visit her and read about the details of the contest.  THANKS SUSAN!
Well, there you go.  Plenty of reasons for this to be a HECK YEAH THURSDAY!

Talk to you soon!

FYI Challenge #8

Hey Bloggeritas!  I'm posting a card that I have entered in the For Your Inspiration challenge #8.  I've decided that I am going to start using more of the scraps of paper that I've accumulated over time.  I mean, it's kind of sad.  All those scraps just sitting in my "scrap drawer" not getting any love.  So, that's why this card is so small.  It's actually 3 1/4" x 5".  So without further delay, here are the juices and berries of the FYI Challenge #8:

I love that Verve sentiment "You are Sunshine for my SOUL"!  I think I'll send this to my husband's granny. She likes birds and she'd love the card.  Alrighty...talk to you soon!

Paper Crafts Color Inspiration Challenge #6

Hola Bloggeritas! I decided to break out my stash of Thickers last night and I'm ambivalent about it.  On one hand, I'm glad that I actually used them and the project came out looking quite snazzy.  On the other hand, I hate that I used them because I love to see them all pretty sitting in their little package.  Do you ever feel like that about your crafting supplies?  Please say you do!  That way, I won't feel so positively weird!  Well, enough about that!  Here are the juices and berries (you know the this and that) of the Color Inspiration Challenge #6 from Paper Crafts:

"Give me liberty, or give me DEATH"!  I always think of this Patrick Henry quote when I think about the fourth of July.  I'm a proud to be an American and there is no other place I'd rather be!

Hope you enjoy the rest of your week!

PPA #98

It's such a lovely day today!  I can't wait for my husband to wake up so we can enjoy the day together. Our son has been YELLING Hap Fadders DAY!!!  (He is 21 months old)  I know my husband is probably hearing it in his sleep! :0)  Anywho...one more card for you today.  This is a fun father's day card that I enjoyed making.  As if I don't enjoy ALL the cards I make! LOL!  Here are the juices and berries (you know the 411):

I'll actually be sorry to see Father's Day go.  I've been enjoying making so many masculine cards!  Now go hug a dad! :)

Hey Bloggeritas!  I want to give a quick shout out to the ladies that are single parents and have to be both mother and father.  Also, I would like to say happy Father's Day to the moms that are serving in both capapcities because their spouse is serving in our military.  Your families appreciate you and so do I!

Here is a tribute card to the grandpas of the world!  Happy Father's Day to you! I've entered it in the CAS-ual Fridays color block challenge this week.  Here are the juices and berries (you know the inside scoop):

Off The Wall Craftiness #55

Good morning.  I'm getting in some quick posts before I go to the store to start my husband's father's day.  I'm making all of his favorites and I'm excited to see the look on his face when he wakes up.  Here are the juices and berries of the OTWC #55 challenge:

My husband is a TERRIFIC DAD!  He deserves to honored today!  Talk with you soon!

PDCC #86

Bloggeritas!  I've been enjoying my Friday evening.  I've been crafting and eating beignets (still celebrating my b-day from Tuesday!).  I can't complain it's been a wonderful week full of fun and love.  Tomorrow I'll be back at kickball practice getting my butt kicked into shape.  So, I don't feel so guilty about indulging in all of the sweet treats this week.

I want to share a card that I made for The Play Date Cafe.  Here are the juices and berries.

Nothing like a good ol' fist bump!  Enjoy your weekend and live it up!

Heck Yeah Thursdays!

Hey Bloggeritas!  Time for another instalment of Heck Yeah Thursdays with yours truly....ROCHELLE!  Just in case you've not been reading my blog, I'm celebrating my 29th birthday all week even though it was on Tuesday.  In the spirit of celebrating I thought that I would give reasons why my b-day week has been awesome for my HECK YEAH Thursday report.

Reason #1 - I let someone do my hair and it turned out great!  (I'm a big touch phob so that was a big step)

Reason #2 - I received the FREE stamps that I won from being the Featured Stamper and Sketch challenge winner over at Skipping Stones Design.

Reason #3 - I'm part of the Fab Four this week at the Play Date Cafe.

Reason #4 - My son went #2 in the potty!!! (TMI I know but, mommy is excited!)

Reason #5 - My husband made me a sweet and romantic dinner on my b-day. (What a doll)

Reason #6 - I went out with the girls and had a blast!

Reason #7 - I have the love of my family and friends and that's the best gift EVER!

So, you see, HECK YEAH Thursday is indeed worthy of a gigantic HEEEEECK YEAAAAH baby! :)

Rochelle...is LOVING 29!

CQC #89 and Skipping Stones Sketch #80

What's up Bloggeritas?  It rained here in Atlanta last night and I thought that perhaps that would have an effect on the high temperatures that we have been experiencing.  However, when I got up this AM, I realized that it was business as usual as far as the weather is concerned.  So, it's going to be another scortcher today.  I've got kickball practice and I know I'll work off all the margarita cupcakes, appletini cupcakes and red velvet cake that I've been eating all week!

I've decided to play along with the Colour Q for the first time.  The colors are so "fatherly" I had to give it a go!  I'm combining the Colour Q with a Skipping Stones Design sketch.  Here are the juices and berries (you know the low down) of the challenges:

I made this card using two Skipping Stones stamp sets.  I used grunge for the background where the wine glass is and I used Margarita Birthday for the wine glass!  It came out great (in my humble opinion of course).  See you real soon!

Rochelle...is STILL celebrating her 29th birthday!!! (6.14)

Play Date Cafe Challenge #85

If you're here for the Triplicate Trials Tuesday post...click here.

Okay...even though I've been talking about this for a week now...TODAY IS MY ACTUAL BIRTHDAY!  I'm 20 + 9 and L-O-V-I-N-G it!  I'm so GRATEFUL to have lived another year.  I'm surrounded by positive energy in all areas of my life.  My family is beautiful.  My friends are dear and my heart is always filled with love, laughter and joy (even though I don't always show it).  My 29th year goal is to focus more on what I love about life as opposed to what I loathe about life.  As I step off of my soap box, I just want to say that sharing my crafty creations on my own blog was one of my 28th year goals and I'm so glad I went for it!  Okay...enough of that!  I wanted to share a little ditty I made last night.  This card is for the Play Date Cafe (I beat the shot clock and got it in on time...yay me!).  Here are the juices and berries (you know...the what's what):

I thought this color combo was just juicy and delicious!  I hope my creation does it justice.  Peace out Bloggeritas...I'm off to have a BIRTHDAY margarita! :)

Rochelle...is 29!

Triplicate Trials Tuesday TTT#2

Hey there BLOGGERITAS!  I'm glad that you stopped by!  I wanted to share with you the two creations I made for the Triplicate Trials Tuesday challenge TTT#2.  Here are the juices and berries (the ins and outs) of the challenge:

This challenge is befitting because TODAY IS MY 29th BIRTHDAY!  Yaaaaaaay!

I'm going to have my 1,000th slice of RED VELVET! Yumm-a-roo!

Paper Crafts Magazine Gallery Idol

Hey Bloggeritas!  I love to sing but, I've never had the gaul to audition for American Idol.  A couple of years ago, auditions were even held at the W hotel that is attached to my office here in Midtown (Atlanta).  So, I thought I'd try my hand at Paper Crafts' Gallery Idol.  Here are the two cards that I have submitted thus far. Oh!  BTW (by the way), the category is Congratulations.

That's all for now.  Just wanted to share!

P.S.  Here is a clip of me singing

Case Study #43 and Pals Paper Arts PPA97

Well beloved Bloggeritas, as of 12am tonight, I will officially be 29.  It is so funny because I think that I have started to realize the woman I am and I'm so comfortable in my skin!  The reason that, that is funny is because I think I've spent the better part of my adult life trying to figure out who I should be.  I've come to realize that there is no one I "should" be except for good ol' Rochelle and that is a very liberating and empowering realization.

That's why the Pals Paper Arts challenge this week fits perfectly for me.  The challenge is to simply show case your personal crafting style and what fits you best.  If I had to sum up my personal crafting style I would have to call it "Classic Eclectic Bohemian Chic".  (don't worry...I have pictures!)  I am also playing along with the CASE Study Challenge because I think the colors fall right in line with my personal style.  Here are the juices and berries of the challenges (you know the good stuff):

This is the card from the June Muse over at CASE Study.  Her name is Jill Foster (love her style).

Here is MY personal style statements for the Pals Paper Arts portion of the challenge:

Here is my creation!:

I hope you enjoyed this post.  I have to admit that this has been one of the most inspiring cards of my crafty career.  It is my expression of self liberation!  OH YEAH!  See y'all real soon!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger

Hey Bloggeritas!  I was blog stalking last night and I came across someone's entry for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger.  And I thought to myself..."self, this seems like a fun deal!  You should give it a try!".  Self replied "Yeah, I agree.".  Here we are!  (Please don't pretend that your inner monologues aren't just as extensive...LOL!)  Anyway...here are the juices and berries (pertinent details) of the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger:  Cosmopolitan Neapolitan

I made myself a birthday card!  :)  DON'T judge me!  See you guys soon!

CAS-ual Friday CFC#6

It's my birthday!  It's my birthday!  In...4 days that is!  BUT...I'm celebrating until the 18th!  Why NOT??  Today I went and got my hair done.  It was such a great experience.  I went to The Good Hair Shop and the ladies there are wonderful!  I also got my eyebrows done and I got my lashes "enhanced".  Here are some photos of me:

They did a great job huh?  Okay, okay on to the JUICES and BERRIES (i.e. particulars) of the CAS-ual Fridays sixth challenge.  This one was so much fun!

I used gems, a leaf die and flowers.  Picard's former babysitter is getting married so, this baby is for her!  I hope you are enjoying your weekend...I KNOW I am!

Heck Yeah THURSDAYS!

Hey Bloggeritas!  I have decided to start a new feature here on Two Tears in my Bucket.  It's called HECK YEAH THURSDAYS!  I don't know why but, Thursday has ALWAYS been one of my favorite days of the week!  I don't know if it's the fact that it's the weekend Eve or if it's because that was the day that mom usually cooked something AWESOME but, Thursdays are supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

So, my HECK YEAHS for today are:

I was selected as "The Cream in our Coffee" at the Play Date Cafe for PDCC#84.  Love that blog!

Tomorrow I am off work so that I can begin my 29th b-day celebration.

HEEEECK YEAH baby!  Enjoy your Thursday!

PDCC #84

Monday is OVER!  Yaaay!  I'm so glad that we've gotten this week off to a great start.  My 29th birthday is  eight days away and I'm so excited!  I have a BIRTHDAY BUCKET LIST!  It includes such titillating adventures such as:  Trying a Five Guys burger, making my own custom scent at Scents and Suds in Ansley Mall (I LOVE doing that), Visiting the Modern by Design exhibit at the High Museum Atlanta, Listening to some live music, wearing earrings in all three of my ear piercings, wearing RED lipstick, getting my hair done (I've not let anyone NEAR my head in 11 years), Eating a slice of red velvet/cheese cake from the Cheesecake Factory, Singing karaoke and buying a lot of miscellaneous trinkets and jewelry from Little 5 points.  I LOVE my city and I LOVE life!  I plan on enjoying it to the fullest.

Now on to the juices and berries of the Play Date Cafe Challenge #84:

He, he, he!  Isn't that a cute sentiment?  I made it in Microsoft Office with Power Point (my FAVE program).  Continue to enjoy your week!  I know I will!
