TTT #12

What's going down Bloggeritas!  I hope you had a howling Halloween!  We took it easy since Picard is only two.  Next year it's going to be epic though.  I made him a "Super Picard" costume for his Fall Festival at school.  Too cute!  I'll share a pic later in the post.  This card is for the Triplicate Trials Tuesday challenge.  Check out the challenge elements and visit my fellow DT member's blogs too!

Embellish Color Trends DIE CUTS!

What's going on Bloggeritas?  I have had a full weekend.  I spent Friday afternoon at Hobby Lobby with my good friend AyanaRED.  She's getting into paper crafting and I was more than happy to explain stamping to her.  I think she's hooked! :)  Paper crafting is like crack (not that I've tried crack)...you can't stop once you start!  On Saturday I went and got my locs done at The Good Hair Shop...such a peaceful environment.  Then....the hubster sent me for a massage BUT...the masseur never showed so, I ended up getting a free 60 min. deep tissue massage gift cert. to use in the future...oh yeah!  All in all...great weekend.

Soooo...you came here for a card right?  Well, here is my entry for the Embellish Magazine Color Trends challenge.  This go around they want you to use die cuts.  I had this turkey lurking around my desk from another project so...I decided to use it.  What I like about it is that you wouldn't expect a turkey incorporated into this color pallet.  P.S.  I cut it with my Silhouette SD (LURVE that machine).  Okay, okay...here it is!

Alright y'all...enjoy your week!

FYI Challenge #16

Hello Bloggeritas!  Today the sun is beaming and the air is crisp and cool.  This time of year always reminds of me of thrifting with my mom.  We would get up early on the weekends and hit all the yard sales, estate sales and thrift stores.  She's the original Design on a Dime Diva!  Love you mommy!  She definitely passed down the "make something out of the nothing" gene to me.  I'm sooo grateful.  I want to share I card with you that I pieced together from scraps that were hanging out on my craft desk.  I'm entering it in the FYI challenge.  Here is the challenge photo and my creation...enjoy!

Wee Memories Challenge #73

Hola Bloggeritas!  What a busy and fulfilling Monday I've had!  Before I go to bed, I wanted to share a card with you that I made for a girlfriend.  She needed a 50th birthday card for her mother in-law.  She shared with me that her MIL often goes to Africa on missionary trips and she wanted a card to reflect the spirit of Africa.  I jumped at the chance.  Here is what I came up with...

Oh, P.S. I'm linking this up with the Wee Memories Challenge...it's a Free for all!  Hecky yeah!

Thanks for stopping in!

CFC #25

Hey y'all!  I've got a card to share with you that I made for the Cas-ual Fridays challenge!  The challenge this week is to color on your project.  Since I'm craft crushing on Paper Smooches stamps right now, I thought I'd use them for this challenge.  Okay, let me explain this card.  I had this idea to make the squirrel lift "birdie" weights.  Hopefully, I executed it okay.  I'm entering this in the Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge too! That's where the wood-grain and the orange comes from. Welp...anywho...here are the juices and the berries baby!

Thanks for hanging out with me!

Good Day Bloggeritas!  It's a crisp and beautiful Fall morning here in Atlanta, GA.  Unfortunately, I have to go to work but, I'm going to relish the day and take frequent breaks! ;)  One of my FAVE challenges, The Play Date Cafe, is celebrating their second anniversary.  They have all kinds of goodies up for grabs so...you know I HAD to play along!  Here is the tea (umm...the good stuff)...

I haven't used my heat gun and embossing powders in quite a while!  So, I thought...why not.  Let's dust Heatecia (my heat gun's name) off and get to cookin' some powder...wait...that didn't come out right.  You know what I mean! LOL!  Thanks for stopping by and WOOT, WOOT to the PDC!

Drunken Stampers Challenge #77

Hola Bloggeritas!  It's time for another fun round of awesomeness over at the Drunken Stampers Challenge!  The theme for the next two weeks is:  Books  You are to use books as an inspiration, as the focal point or you could use a page from a book.  I decided to use a page from a dictionary.  I know, I know...a dictionary?  Yeah, it's old and obsolete so...I ripped a page out for my card!  Please make sure you visit our challenge and play along.  Visit my fellow Designated Designers too!  Their projects are book-tacular!  Yep...I just said that! LOL!

I WISH!

What's going on Bloggeritas!  I must admit that I was inspired to write this post because Market Street Stamps is celebrating their one year anniversary and they are having a little promotion that entails their fans creating a wish list of MSS they want.  So, before we go any further...here is the link to MY wish list!  Uh huh...oh yeah!

Now, theoretically, I should wish for world peace, peace of mind, perfect health and financial stability for my family and friends and good acquaintances.  BUT...beyond thinking of my hubby, my son and my family and friends...I think about what I WISH for out of this crafting deal.

So...here is my crafty bucket WISH list...

1.  Attend CHA with enough money to buy product.  I mean who wants to window shop at CHA?  Not me.

2.  Become Stampin' Royalty over at Papercrafts Mag.  Google it...freakin' awesome.

3.  Learn how to sew.

4.  Be published in any paper crafting mag.

5.  Actually hang out with other paper crafters.  I have major social anxiety issues.  Don't judge me.

6.  Purchase a Scrap Box...have you seen these freakin' things?  They're ridiculous!

7.  Design my own stamps

8.  Try my hand at glass etching.

9.  Win the Cup of the Day at The Play Date Cafe.

10.  Be the T.G.I.F. Club Winner at Cas-ual FridaysOkay...I did that!  Oh yeah baby!

That's just my 2011 - 2012 list.  It changes.  What are YOUR Crafty wishes?  I know you have some!  Give me all the juices and berries, pour me the tea...I want to know!

Juices and berries - the good stuff, juicy details

The Tea - Gossip usually...but, it can be good info too!

Thanks guys!

CFC #24

Hey y'all!  Do you ever find yourself going so fast and working so hard that you literally forget the route you took to work or even what the water felt like during your shower?  No?  Okay well, that's a me thing I guess.  I can't remember how I got to work this AM!  I mean of course I know I drove but, the ride is a blur.  Time to remind myself to slow down!  You know what I do to slow down...CRAFT! :)  I decided to make a fun card!  Yaaaaay!  I'm playing along with Cas-ual Fridays this week.  The challenge is to make a CAS Halloween card with no orange.  No problem!

Check out the juices and the tasty berries...you know...the details...

Thanks a lot for stopping in!

Perfect Sentiments Challenge PSC03

Hey Bloggeritas!  It's WEDNESDAY!  A.k.a. "hump day"...a.k.a. "Perfect Sentiments Challenge Day"!  This week's challenge is to create a Embossed Get Well: create a card that reflects a sentiment of getting well and include embossing dry or heat.   I'm never that good with get well cards because I hate to use the sentiment "get well".  I always go with...hang in there or chin up.  I don't know why...just me I guess.

Our sponsor for this week is Sarah from "My Little Somethings".  Sarah is giving away a grab bag of craft supplies worth $15.  Hey!  Now that's a great deal!  (Shipping to only U.S. destinations...sorry guys)

Okay...here is my get well card!  Hope you enjoy!

You have until Tuesday, October 25th by 10:00pm EST to link up your project!

Thanks for stopping by!  Please stop by my fellow DT member's blogs.

TTT #11

Welcome one, welcome all to Two Tears in my Bucket. Did you ever think that it was coincidental that both my personal blog and Triplicate Trials Tuesday both have "T"s in the title? Well...it's not! My husband's name is Terence. Since he is always pushing me and inspiring me to "get my craft on", I thought about him when naming my blog and Triplicate Trials Tuesday as well. Mushy, mushy...but, hey I love that guy!

This week at the Triple T blog, we have Stephanie Castro Guesting. She is a great designer who has a wonderful style! Come by and check her out. Oh! Don't forget to check out the rest of the Triple T Team too! They're all on fire this week. Here are the challenge elements and my creation!

Moxie Fab Texture Challenge

Hey Bloggeritas!  Today I'm sharing a card for the Moxie Fab Texture challenge.  For some reason, this makes me think of all the Cotton commercials.  You know..."the touch, the feel, the fabric of our lives."  Yeah, I know I'm random and weird but, hey...that's what makes stopping by Two Tears in my Bucket so much effin' fun! :)  Okay, on to the juices and berries (uh...yeah...that means the details)...

My first PUBLIC mini-album and other NON-CARD projects...

Hey Bloggeritas!  Do you ever step outside of your crafty comfort zone?  Well, I do...and often actually.  I just don't share because at the last minute I decide that it's not blog worthy.  I don't really have that issue with cards.  I don't know why.  I guess I feel like I'm a pretty okay card maker! LOL!  BUT...to hell with nerves! I want to share a few projects with you that I've made but, haven't shared.  Okay...here goes!

MY FIRST Public MINI ALBUM

I made this album for a friend who's mom is turning sixty.  I just let my imagination run away with me.

Well, that's it for my FIRST ever PUBLIC mini-album.

30th BIRTHDAY JOURNAL

I made this so that she could document how she felt while she was going through her 30th Birthday celebration.  It's always fun to look back and reflect.  I need to do waaaay more journaling!

30 SUCKS

I saw this idea will Pintresting and I thought "I'm case-ing this one!"  Isn't it funny?  I of course don't know what 30th feels like (this is the last year of my 20's) but, this is the best!

Date Night Movie Ticket Holder and Card

I gave this to a friend at her bridal shower.  "L" is going to be part of her new monogram!

Well, that's all I've got to share!  Hope you enjoyed it!

A Chevron Balloon?

Hi Bloggeritas! I've got a quick card to share with you!  It's for the Chevron challenge over at the CARDS blog!  I used my Silhouette SD to cut a balloon shape.  I then added chevron stripes to the balloon, added twine, stamped my sentiment and voila!  I'm totally feelin' the chevron thing!  Check it out!

Hope you like it!

Am I the ONLY one?

Hey Bloggeritas!  If you're anything like me, some fraction of your day is spent blog surfing.  If you're not blog surfing, you're on manufacturer's websites or spending time in crafting communities.  I try not to take anything too seriously in my life but, I'm pretty serious about crafting.  Like...nobody had better touch my newest any issue of Paper Crafts magazine or risk the penalty of loosing a hand...serious.

While I'm visiting, blog stalking, commenting and admiring I get peeved when folks have product that I want but, CAN'T AFFORD!  I mean, I seriously cannot keep up!  While I am excited to see the monthly releases from my favorite stamp companies, I'm all aggi (aggravated) that I can't buy things when I want to.  I know this may seem like the rant of a six year old whose parents won't allow her to buy the newest "Take over the world Barbie" but, I can't help it! Humph! (arms crossed).

This is the kind struggle I go through:

This month my adhesive stash is low...actually non-existent. So, instead of ordering more Glue Arts adhesive (or using my 40% off coupon at Hobby Lobby to buy some), I bought the new Sweet Stamp Shop release!

and...

I've been using 3M Double Sided tape...don't judge me.

The mental anguish I take myself through:

Okay...all the stuff in my cart is $35.00.  I have $40.00 to spend.  Damn those shipping costs!  Guess I'll get one thing since I can't afford to pay for the taxes and shipping...sigh.

GOSH!  I'm NEVER gonna have all the dies and stamps and ink and designer paper and embellies and glitter and copics and ribbon and STUFF that I want!

My self-challenge that makes it all better:

Know what I do?  I challenge myself to make trend relevant projects while crafting on a budget.
Wanna know how?  Okay, I'll tell you a few of my "Broke as hell...oh, well" tricks.

1.  I don't buy "foam squares".  I use 3M mounting tape.  Same thing.  It works well for me and I just cut it to be whatever size I need it to be and it lasts me A LOT longer.

2.  I shop at Big Lots and Target and Wal-Mart and Ross for crafting supplies.  What?  Huh?  YEP!  You would not believe how much stuff you'll find at these retailers.  Of course it's not going to be the premium, fancy, shmancy stuff you get at your local LSS but...it'll do.  I've bought Martha Stewart, K&Co, Inkadinkado, American Crafts and others there.

3.  I don't own any Cricuit products. I do have a Cuttlebug that I use for dies and Nesties but, that's it.  I am an AVID Silhouette SD user.  I only buy the shapes I need.  I also buy their clearance shapes and get the free shape of the week.  Saves me from having to buy expensive carts.  I even download free fonts to use not only with my word processor (MS Office) but, Silhouette uses ANY font on my computer!  I KNOW that's blasphemy to some of you and I'm not hating on Provo...I just can't afford it!  Plus...my Silhouette rocks MY world!

4.  I keep old brown paper bags, ribbon from gifts, the extra buttons that come with shirts and old romance novels.

I KNOW I'm cheap...but, I have to be!

Just some thoughts from my meandering mind.

Thanks for reading!
Rochelle
