February PTI Blog HOP (and a Clean and Simple Challenge)!

Hey Bloggeritas!  Happy Papertrey Ink blog hop day!!  I'm really excited whenever these hops come around.  There is limitless inspiration to draw from!  So, here are the juices and berries associated with the hop:

"This month we decided to dedicate the Blog Hop to scallops!  We want to see your best use of scallops, of any sort, on a project!  This can include scalloped borders, offset-scallops, stamped scallops,  scalloped mats, scalloped frames, layered scallops, scalloped tags or anything else you can dream up! You can use dies, patterned scissors or even circle punches in a row to achieve your special look. We are looking forward to seeing all of your amazing creations!"

I needed a little help with the scalloped thing and just when I was searching for a sketch, I ran across the Clean and Simple sketch challenge.  So, this is a two-fer.  PTI Blog hop AND a Clean and Simple Sketch challenge.

Liebster Blog Award

What is the Liebster Blog Award?  Well...  The Liebster Blog Award is an award that you give to 3-5 blogs that have less than 100 followers.  The blogs are supposed to have inspired you.

I think that you're supposed to get nominated before you can do your selections and if that's the case...oh well!  I've just messed it up! LOL!  (Still haven't figured out if it's uncool to LOL on your blog)

I follow so many blogs that it literally takes me a week and a half just to check and read all of the updates! Whenever I come across a blog I like I add it.  I don't hesitate.  Inspiration is everywhere out here in blogland.  I thank whatever Gods may be for Google Reader!

Seriously though.  It means so much when someone leaves a sweet comment on a card (or for scrappers a LO) that you've labored over.  So, you can imagine how you feel when you start getting followers.  THEN, to know that someone really likes your blog...well that's just the pinnacle of perfect!  So, when I was reading the "My Creative Journey" blog and saw her post about the Liebster award, I had to follow suit and crown some very deserving Bloggeritas.

First up, is Alberta's Closet.  Alberta has a clean and fresh style that is so unique and crisp.  Her blog is a joy to read and she is super-dee-duper talented.  I wonder if she knows that she is awesome?

Next is "The Buzz".  Barbara has got skills!  She is one of those ladies that makes you want to stop everything you're doing and head to your crafting space to create.  Every time she posts, I swear that she stolen her cards from Hallmark! :)  Seriously, her cards have such a professional and polished look about them.

Finally, there is Charlene over at "Where MMs Gather".  Apart from her seemingly unhealthy addiction to all things M&M, (just teasing) everything she makes turns to blog gold.  All of her creations are beautiful, elegant and tastefully done.  I wanna be like her when I grow up!

So, there you have it...my top three picks with under 100 followers.  Stop by and show them some Blog Love.

See ya!

Embellish Magazine Color Trends Challenge + Birds

Every morning I'm serenaded by all the little birdies outside my window.  I actually love birds.  They're so beautiful and most have a very sweet song.  I'm not in the Audubon Society or anything but, I can easily appreciate the beauty in these feathered creatures.  I think my favorite bird is the Cardinal.  Those red feathers and that little "faux hawk" on the top of their heads is so cute to me!

That's why this challenge over at the Embellish Magazine Blog was so appealing.  I decided to participate not to even attempt a "win" really but, simply because I loved the colors and of course the use of birds.  I also used the sketch #64 from Skipping Stones Design to give me a little push.  The linky was closed but, I like the sketch so...

Here are the deets:

This photo alone is beautiful.  Here is my offering:

At second glance I probably should have cut the DP to show more of the Kraft card base but, I think it worked out.  I like it.

Thanks for droppin' in!

Who Knew? - The Blog Guide Book

Okay, so, I'm late.  But, that's okay!  It's alright to be "tardy to the party" sometimes.  I just discovered a wonderful blog called "The Blog Guidebook". There is a wealth of information about how to blog more efficiently, it serves as a blog "Yellow Pages" and there are goodies and giveaways galore.

Just thought I'd let you know it was out there!  If you already knew...don't tell me!  Just allow me to think that I enlightened you! :)

Alright...see y'all later!

Peace in the middle east...no seriously.

Glory Hallelujah! (Oh, and a Challenge too!)

Bloggeritas (yeah?), oh, Bloggeritas (yeah?), I feel good today!  Because BLOGGERITAS feel good EVERYDAY! YAY!

It never hurts to do a little cheer every now and then!  We all need perking up!  So, yesterday, a blogger that I have the utmost respect for gave TTIMB a shout out!  Julie from, Julie's Open Window placed my little old blog on her "Newer Blogs You Must See!" list.  I am grateful, oh so grateful.  I had to dance a little jig and shout Glory Hallelujah when I saw that! :)  Thank you Julie!

Alright.  Moving right along.  I played along with the Mojo Monday (MOJO 179) sketch challenge this week.  I know you're super surprised. Remember I'm broadening my challenge horizons so, this is going to be a two-fer.  I'm using the Color Throw Down  (CTD 129) here as well.  Here are the juicy details:

Here is my offering:
Let me be frank with you and tell you that I had difficulty with this one.  Primarily because I used an A7 sized card as my card base.  Damn my Martha Stewart scoring board for having all the card sizes listed!  If hadn't seen it...I wouldn't have cut my card stock that large! I have vowed to step outside of my comfort zone and let me tell you...I almost stepped off of a cliff !  It ended up working out but, it was some smoke in the city there for a while.

I can appreciate the folks that continuously take risks in their lives.  You know, policemen, firemen, military folks...because obviously Mr. Risky and I aren't going to have that good of a relationship.

Supplies:
Paper:  PTI (Vintage Cream, Kraft, Ripe Avocado) SU! (Marina Mist), S.E.I (Moonrise), Webster's Pages
Ink:  PTI (Ripe Avocado)
Sentiment:  Verve Stamp (All About You)
Embellishments:  Paper Studio
Ribbon and Twine:  My Stash

PDCC69 and CSC27

Happy Monday to you!  I have had an exciting day today!  It's been one new thing presenting opportunities after another.  Sometimes life wakes you up and reminds you that it's not through with you yet!  Anyway, I wanted to expand my challenge horizons and what better place to do that than at The Play Date Cafe?  I've been on the PDC blog several times but, it always seemed as if I had just missed a challenge cut-off date so, I never participated.  Luckily for me, I visited last night it just so happened to be a "Combined Grind".  That means that there are two challenges rolled into one.  In this case, they're combining the Case Study Challenge blog which I can tell is already going to become a favorite of mine.

Let's rock and roll shall we?  Here are the deets on the challenge:

Here is the excerpt from PDCC:

"Well, you already know that here at The Cafe,
we focus strictly on color...

At CASE Study, they focus on the idea of:

Copy
And
Share
Everything

So for this week,
we are challenging you to
participate in both challenges!

Focus on COLOR here at The Cafe
and anything you want at CASE Study!"
And with that being said, here is my offering:

Paper:  PTI (Kraft and Ripe avocado), Cosmo Cricket
Stamps:  Verve (All About You)
Ink:  PTI(Dark Chocolate)
Ribbon:  Pink Persimmon
Stick Pen, pearls and Roses:  K&Co.
Other info:  Silhouette SD for shapes, Cuttlebug Swiss dots embossing folder

I hope you're starting your week off the right way by crafting!

LOL!  Is it passe to use "LOL" in a blog post?  Well, if it is...pardon moi!  So, as I said in my previous post, I'm on borrowed time.  Picard is with my mother-in-love and well...I'm lovin' it! :) I am doing a case card challenge from the Repeat Impressions Blog (The House That Stamps Built).  Here is the case card:

OTWC #46 and C&S #128

Hey Bloggeritas!  I'm supposed to be doing my Saturday morning chores but, instead, I'm here posting cards.  Tisk, tisk!  Well, since I'm blogging on borrowed time, (my mother-in-love is entertaining Picard) I had better get to the meat and potatoes of it all.  Here we go:

I decided to combine two challenges from my favorite go-to inspiration blogs, Clean & Simple and Off The Wall Craftiness.  Here is all the yummy goodness from the OTWC color inspiration challenge and the C&S sketch challenge:

It seems like a lot to put into one card but, really a card just popped into my head!  It all just "came together".  I know it's cliche but, truly that's how this one happened.  Here is my offering:

OTWC Challenge #45 Vintage Love

Good morning!  I didn't want to wear my jacket as I was walking from my parking deck to my job because the temperature was so mild this morning.  I wore it anyway because this is cold/flu weather!  You've got to stay consistently dressed...if that makes any sense.  Maybe that's the old school remedy southerner in me...I don't know.

But, what I do know is that I decided to participate in the OTWC Challenge #45.  Lord knows at the end of the day, I need a challenge to get me going.  I like to make a card a day...sometimes two.  But, after dropping Picard (my son) off at the sitter, commuting to work, working, working out, going home to cook for my guys cleaning up and getting ready for the next day...my crafting energy is low, low, low.  Ashley Newell actually did a post about this today on her blog.

Back to the challenge.  Here is the inspiration:

Here is what I came up with:
I hate that you can't see the little charm at the bottom.  It says "Adore".  Just sweet!

Supplies:
Ink:  Tom Holtz Distress Ink (Worn Lipstick), Chamomile Vintage Touch (PTI)
DP:  PTI (In Bloom)
Sentiment:  Verve
Ribbon: My stash
Stick Pin:  My stash
